Rachel is an abstract artist living in the Bay Area, California.
Her work focuses on intuitive expressions of nature utilized as a window into the landscapes of the mind.
By drawing inspiration from desert landscapes, mountains, and plants, she sheds light on the idea of clarity holding hands with fragility. Just as nature is both chaotic and beautiful, so are our minds and experiences.
Born into a family of artists, makers, and small business owners, Rachel began cultivating creativity at a young age. Themes of pilgrimage, returning from exile, and journeying up a mountain to gain new perspectives are woven into each piece. The colors are heightened to reflect both the colors in her mind and the beauty of desert sunrises, lavender sunsets, and mountain light.
Her process centers around the balances between limitation, play, and experimentation as reflected through unorthodox painting application, collage, and mixed media drawing.
